This thesis is performed at Enea AB. Power management of computers and microcontrollers can be performed in many ways, for example by scaling down the CPU frequency or lowering the CPU voltage. This gives implications on real time systems, which have a need of knowing the time elapsed in every instance.
The Global Energy Optimization for Distributed Embedded Systems, GEODES/ITEA2 project has an implementation in the form of the Enea SHAPE middleware. To make the system of developing for the SHAPE middleware or the middleware itself standardized there is a need for a Developers Toolkit.
